Requirements

Any author who places a preprint of his or her own on the ResearCycles platform will be able to choose between:

  • Self-management of a paper for publication in Journal
  • Self-management of a paper to be published in Book series/conferences.
  • Ask ResearchCycles to manage the publication of your paper in Journals classified according to Scimago or WoS as Q3 or Q4.
  • Request ResearchCycles to manage the publication of your paper in Book series/conferences papers (all quartiles except Q1).

In all cases, the researcher must comply with the terms and conditions of ResearCycles which are designed to safeguard the guidelines established by the scientific community on academic publications and all authors involved in them.

Every researcher without exception shall:

  • To sign an agreement with ResearCycles and its co-authors where you can trust the originality and the unpublished character of their research.
  • To sign an agreement that allows ResearCycles to place the preprint in its platform with the purpose of raising funds through the integration of co-authors, who will actively participate in the feedback of the content of the document until obtaining a final version that will be called a paper.
  • Sign an agreement where you commit to request the funds raised exclusively for: registration of papers in journals, book series/conference papers or payments for open access in journals indexed by SCOPUS or WoS.

Calculation of royalties for papers in Journals

The amounts will depend on the choice of: publication type, management and quartile; according to the following table:

Optional Fee

Example of calculation #1:

A lead author (PA) has only one co-author and decides to place his or her paper on the ResearchCycles (RC) platform; the PA agrees with RC that it will only allow two additional co-authors. The journal must be SCOPUS classified as Q1, the registration in the journal is 300 USD and, if desired as open access, 400 USD more.

Total number of authors= 4

Royalty base for Q1 (see price list) = 850USD / co-author

Royalty AP =0.60*(2*850) = 1,020 USD.

Use of royalties:

Payment per registration= 300 USD (required)

Payment for open Access= 400 USD (optional)

Assuming that the PA accepted payment by open Access, the total payment will be 700 USD.

Therefore: the money collected covers the fee of registration in journal and open Access.

Surplus royalties= 1020 USD -700 USD= 320 USD.

Total number of authors= 4

Royalty base for Q1 (see price list) = 850 USD / co-author

Royalty PA =0.40*(2*850) = 680 USD.

Use of royalties:

Payment per registration= 300 USD (required)

Payment for open Access= 400 USD (optional)

Assuming that the PA accepted payment by open Access, the total fee will be 700 USD.

Therefore: the PA must place an additional 20 USD to cover the payment of registration in journal and open Access.

Royalty surplus = 0 USD

Example of calculation #2

A principal author (PA) has only one co-author and decides to place his or her paper on the ResearchCycles (RC) platform; the PA agrees with RC that it will only allow two additional co-authors. The journal must be classified as a Q1 WoS, the registration in the journal is 1000 USD and if desired as open access 400 USD more.

Total number of authors= 4

Royalty base for Q1 (see price list) = 850 USD / co-author

Royalty PA =0.60*(2*850) = 1,020 USD.

Use of royalties:

Fee per registration= 1000 USD (required)

Therefore:

Surplus royalties= 1020 USD -1000 USD= 20 USD.

How:

Fee for Open Access= 400 USD (optional)

Assuming that the PA wishes to make payment by Open Access (which is optional), it can make use of the 20 USD for this purpose and complement on its part or with its institution the remaining 380 USD (which must be paid directly to the journal).

Finally:

Surplus royalties= 1020 USD -1000 USD-20USD= 0 USD.

Total number of authors= 4

Royalty base for Q1 (see price list) = 850USD / co-author

Royalty AP =0.40*(2*850) = 680 USD.

Use of royalties:

Fee per registration = 1000 USD (which is mandatory), therefore the main PA must complete the registration by placing 320 USD by their own means or through their institution.

How:

Fee for Open Access= 400 USD (optional)

Assuming that the PA wishes to make payment by Open Access (which is optional), it can do so by paying the 400 USD to the magazine directly.

Finally:

Surplus royalties= 680 USD -680 USD-0USD= 0 USD.

Price range for conference registration**

**estimated according to usual options.

700 USD – 600USD for Book series classified by Scimago as Q2 or conference papers in SCOPUS with percentile greater than or equal to 50% (categorized or not in CPCI-S or CPCI-SSH)

500 USD – 400 USD for Book series classified by Scimago as Q3 or conference papers in SCOPUS with percentile less than 50% (categorized or not in CPCI-S or CPCI-SSH).

300 USD-200 USD for Book series classified by Scimago as Q4 (categorized or not in CPCI-S or CPCI-SSH).

200 USD – 150 USD for conference papers indexed in SCOPUS with ISBN (categorized or not in CPCI-S or CPCI-SSH)

200 USD – 150 USD for conference papers indexed in SCOPUS with ISBN (categorized or not in CPCI-S or CPCI-SSH)

Example of calculation #3:

A lead author (PA) has only one co-author and decides to place his or her paper on the ResearchCycles (RC) platform; the PA agrees with RC that it will allow 4 additional co-authors. The conference will publish its proceedings in a Book series indexed in SCOPUS and according to SCIMAGO classified in Q2. The registration fee includes the publication and is 600 USD.

Total number of authors = 6

Royalty basis for Q2 in conferences (see price list) = 250 USD /co-author

Royalty AP = 0.70*(4*250) = 700 USD.

Use of royalties:

Payment per registration= 600 USD (required)

Therefore:

Surplus royalties= 700 USD -600 USD= 100 USD.

Total number of authors= 6

Royalty basis for Q2 in conferences (see price list) = 250 USD /co-author

Royalty AP =0.60*(4*250) = 600 USD.

Use of royalties:

Payment per registration = 600 USD (required)

Therefore:

remaining royalties = 600USD -600 USD = 0 USD.

Example of calculation #4:

A lead author (PA) has two co-authors and decides to place his or her paper on the ResearchCycles (RC) platform; the PA agrees with RC that it will allow the entry of 3 additional co-authors. The conference will publish their papers in a Book series indexed in SCOPUS and according to SCIMAGO classified in Q2. The registration fee includes the publication and is 600 USD

Total number of authors= 5

Royalty basis for Q2 in conferences (see price list) = 250 USD /co-author

Royalty AP = 0.70*(3*250) = 525 USD.

Use of royalties:

Payment per registration = 600 USD

(which is mandatory), therefore, the main PA must complete the registration by placing 75 USD on their own or through their institution.

Total number of authors = 5

Royalty basis for Q2 in conferences (see price list) = 250 USD/co-author

Royalty AP = 0.60*(3*250) = 450 USD.

Use of royalties:

Payment per registration= 600 USD

(which is mandatory), therefore, the main PA must complete the registration by placing 150 USD on their own or through their institution.
